STATEMENT FROM THE DOMINICAN AMERICAN ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS CAUCUS of NJ, DAEOC-NJ
REGARDING LT. GOVERNOR GUADAGNO’S CAMPAIGN AD, ‘SANCTUARY’
The Dominican-American Elected and Appointed Officials Caucus of New Jersey officially expresses its strong protest for the recent ad distributed by the Guadagno campaign, named ‘sanctuary.’
In this ad the Guadagno campaign seeks to compare, in a dismissive and irresponsible manner, one man’s criminal offense to an entire community. As well, they attempt to manipulate our opinion on gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy, a man of character. We find these actions to be totally wrong and misguided and we will not stand for it.
The Dominican-American Caucus is made up of representatives from throughout the State…and we will urge our constituency to support us as we focus our efforts and energy so that on November 7th we send a resounding message of ‘No!” to a legacy of hate and division.
The State of New Jersey does not need fear and divisiveness in its future, it needs qualified, compassionate and progressive leadership. We need a man like Phil Murphy, who we continue to support, to take the reins of this State.
