Statement from former Elmwood Park Democratic Councilman Glen Pettigano

Statement from former Elmwood Park Democratic Councilman Glen Pettigano:

“Elmwood Park Democratic voters deserve a full and honest primary election on June 4 to decide our candidate for Mayor in the November election. The selection of the Democratic nominee for Mayor should not be chosen in a back room by individuals who were hand-picked by the now-former Mayor. There has been enough machine politics. It’s time for change. The only way to begin the healing is by allowing the people to choose a new direction. There is less than a month until Primary Day, but that is ample time to change the ballot. We saw this happen in last year’s elections for Bergen County Sheriff, and in North Arlington and East Rutherford municipal races. The voters in not only the party, but the borough of Elmwood Park, deserve a competitive Democratic primary election to ensure the voice of the people is allowed to speak at the ballot box this fall.”
