Statement from Freeholder Cappelli in regard to giving blood during coronavirus pandemic

The statement below is by Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. in regard to giving blood during the coronavirus pandemic.

“The American Red Cross has announced a severe blood shortage due to the coronavirus pandemic and widespread cancellations of planned donation appointments. A ready and available blood supply is critical to our nation’s health system in order to treat everything from accident victims to cancer patients.

If you are healthy and able, please consider donating blood as soon as possible. The process for donating blood is completely safe and scheduling an appointment will allow you to make a donation while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Camden County residents who are able to give blood should visit www.redcross.org and schedule an appointment to visit the Camden County Blood Donation Center located at 5425 Marlton Pike, in Pennsauken immediately.

We can win this war, but only if we work together. This is an easy way to do your part and help save lives during this unprecedented crisis.”
