Statement from Assemblywoman Alixon Collazos-Gill Regarding The 2025 Primary Election Date

Thursday, December 12, 2024

MONTCLAIR, NJ – “The right to vote continues to be the hallmark of democracy. In recent years, New Jersey has made great strides in expanding the right to vote through voting by mail and early in person voting. I am aware that next year’s primary election falls on the sacred Jewish holiday of Shavuot, a day where those who observe the holiday cannot use any form of technology. In an effort to ensure those that want to vote next year can vote, I support a continued expansion of voting access, including moving
the primary election to a later date. In doing so, we will continue to ensure that the right to vote in New Jersey does not discriminate by age, gender, party affiliation, or religion.”
