Statement from Laura Marie Ali, New Jersey Republican Chair of Chairs

New Jersey Is Now A Swing State

On behalf of the Chairs’ Association and my colleagues who lead the 21 counties’ grassroots GOP organizations throughout the state, we’re thrilled to celebrate the historic Republican wins up and down the great state of New Jersey.

We congratulate President Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance on their impressive victory. It’s a great day to be an American and a New Jersey Republican.

Coming within 5 percentage points of delivering its 14 electoral votes to President Trump, New Jersey is now officially a swing state, thanks to the hard work of our New Jersey grassroots Republicans. Our message of greater freedom, affordability, and opportunity is resonating in once-Democratic strongholds, throughout Hispanic communities, and with independent voters.

I would also like to congratulate Curtis Bashaw who ran an excellent campaign, and despite the lack of national attention and resources, came the closest to victory of any statewide US Senate candidate since Bob Franks in 2000. Curtis is on track to receive over 1.85 million votes, more than any New Jersey statewide candidate has ever received in an election for governor or US Senate.

Curtis is a great man, and we are lucky to have him in New Jersey Republican politics.

Finally, we congratulate not only the winners but everyone who was courageous enough to put their hats in the ring and names on the ballot. We are one team and more united and laser focused on turning this state around than ever before.

The best days of our Republican party, country and state are ahead of us!

Our future is so bright, we will all need sunglasses.

Congratulations to our volunteers, our committee members, our donors and our candidates. Thank you for making us New Jersey proud.”
