Statement from Speaker Craig J. Coughlin Endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for President 

I am proud to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States. She has the experience, strength, and core principles to unite our party and our country. This will be one of the most consequential elections in our nation’s history and Vice President Harris is ready to meet this moment. She will draw clear distinctions in this election as we face a stark choice between our most admirable aspirations and our worst impulses. She will fight for our fundamental freedoms, expand opportunities for working families, and lead us to a safer, more prosperous future.

To be blunt, for the future of our country and our democracy, we must defeat Donald Trump at the ballot box. President Biden recognized Vice President Harris’s integrity, intellect, and discernment when he selected her as his running mate. It is clear she is ready to serve as Commander-in-Chief and as the standard bearer for our shared American values in this campaign.
