Statement from Tammy Murphy on U.S. Supreme Court Decision to Hear
Mifepristone Case

“The constant assault from extremists on women and reproductive health care in this country is appalling, exhausting and unacceptable. The right-wing Supreme Court just made another move in their relentless crusade to strip millions of women the ability to make their own decisions about their bodies — again.

“Let’s be clear, placing significant restrictions on access to mifepristone stops access to safe abortions, putting millions of women’s lives and health at risk. Living in a world where our daughters have less freedoms over their bodies than previous generations had is nothing short of disgusting.

“Make no mistake, the ramifications of this case would be catastrophic to reproductive health care in America, and is exactly why we need women in the Senate who will stand up to extreme Republicans and their shameful attacks on our bodies. This is one of the reasons why I’m running to be the first woman to represent New Jersey in the Senate, so I can take on these extremists and protect a woman’s right to make their own health care decisions.”
