Statement from the Leadership of the

New Jersey Legislature on Ballot Redesign Decision

(TRENTON) “We are reviewing today’s decision on ballot design. Nothing in the decision—or any subsequent legal decision—will change the commitment we have made to a transparent process that will include a review of ballots in other states and input from the public. We remain convinced that if there are Constitutional problems with our balloting process, the Legislature is the appropriate body to remedy those issues. The New Jersey Legislature has a demonstrated track record of working in a bipartisan manner to ensure transparency and public trust in voting, and we look forward to continuing that tradition to ensure public trust in our democratic process.”
