STATEMENT FROM GOUTAM JOIS ON MANAFORT & GATES INDICTMENTS

Seventh Congressional District candidate Goutam Jois issued the following statement in response to news that President Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and campaign official Rick Gates were indicted today in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the election.

“Having worked on investigations, including those involving allegations of international corruption, I know the importance of allowing investigators to do their work unimpeded.

Here, the stakes are as high as they could be, and it’s critical that we learn the truth without presidential interference.

Congressman Lance: Will you make clear that you won’t allow President Trump to interfere with or obstruct this investigation? Will you call on the President to not pardon Manafort, Gates, or others that may be charged with crimes, so that the American people can know the truth about what happened?”
