Statement from Mark Longo on the NJTA’s Capital Plan

(Springfield, NJ) – Following today’s New Jersey Transportation Authority Virtual Board Meeting, Mark Longo, Director of Engineers Labor-Employer Cooperative 825, released the following statement:

“NJTA’s capital plan is a win-win for New Jersey residents and businesses. Not only does it provide for major improvements to our critical infrastructure, but it’s a forward-thinking plan to increase safe travel on our busiest business corridor and help further open market places to New Jersey’s expanding innovative manufacturing and supply chain sectors. In fact, according to Colliers October 2019 International Final Mile Study, ‘New Jersey has the ability to serve more than 22 million consumers, who collectively have nearly $800 billion in disposable income and live within a two-hour drive.’ While we’re in the midst of an economic downturn, the right thing to do is invest in our critical infrastructure to support New Jersey’s businesses, small and large alike.”
