Statement from Middlesex County Chairman Kevin McCabe on the Edison Mayoral Race

“As he has for the last four years, Mayor Tom Lankey has my full support, as well as the support of the entire Middlesex County Democratic Organization, for his re-election in Edison this year.

Mayor Lankey has brought a steady hand and a thoughtful mind to the leadership of our county’s largest municipality. He has more than earned another term as mayor.

Earlier this year, our party, in an open and transparent process, selected Tom Lankey and his council team to be our standard bearers this November. In June, duly elected county committee members in Edison chose Shariq Ahmad to be the chair of the Edison Democratic Organization, and to help lead our candidates to victory in November. Mayor Lankey, the Democratic council slate and Chairman Ahmad all have the Middlesex County Democratic Organization’s full support as we work together to ensure victory this November. To be clear, anyone who leaves the Democratic Party forfeits the support of the MCDO.”
