Statement of Ravi Bhalla on US Appeals Court Upholding the Abolishment of the County Line for the June 4 Democratic Primary

This is more bad news for the county line and the party bosses that benefit from it—and good news for democracy,” said Ravi Bhalla, who filed amicus curiae briefs with the US Appeals Court in support of the lower court decision to abolish the county line, as well as with the US District Court in the original suit against the line. “We must now work to make sure that this long overdue leveling of the playing field, ensuring true democracy in our primaries, stays in place for the long-term.”

Ravi Bhalla is challenging Rob Menendez Jr. in the Democratic Primary for New Jersey’s 8th Congressional district seat.
