Statement from Senator Ruiz on Education Funding Bill Signed into Law

TRENTON – The Senate Education Chair M. Teresa Ruiz issued the following statement on Governor Phil Murphy signing the school funding bill into law:

“First and foremost I must thank Senate President Sweeney for meeting this issue with such fervor and dedication, his tireless work is in large part the reason this historic piece of legislation has become law. Access to quality education is the greatest socioeconomic equalizer there is, and this law will help ensure all New Jersey students are receiving the fair funding. It is not about winners and losers it is about ensuring all of our children are given the same opportunities regardless of what neighborhood they grow up in. This is a great first step. We need to keep our focus on moving an education agenda that continues to create excellence in all of our schools.”
