Trenton, NJ – It is reported that effective June 30, Governor Murphy will make a quarterly contribution of $684 million to the State pension system on time and in full.
In response to Governor Murphy’s administration announcing that he will continue to make full payments into the broken State pension system, NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt released the following statement:
“Governor Murphy is desperate to appease the public sector union bosses who fund his agenda, but is less willing to lift a finger for the rest of New Jersey. He is pushing a $10 billion borrowing scheme and begging for a federal bailout just so he can make billions of dollars of payments into a broken State pension system and its debt service, rather than invest in aid to small businesses, veterans, our children’s eduction or 1.1 million unemployed New Jerseyans.”
