Steinhardt Sworn-in as State Senator for New Jersey’s 23rd Legislative District
Douglas J. Steinhardt has taken the oath of office to become the new state senator for New Jersey’s 23rd Legislative District.
“I grew up in Warren County in the heart of the 23rd District and chose to raise my family and build a business here,” said Steinhardt. “It’s a great honor to have the opportunity to represent our rural community in the New Jersey Senate. I look forward to working with senators from both parties to make New Jersey a safe and affordable place to call home.”
Steinhardt, a resident and former five-time mayor of Lopatcong Township, was sworn-in during a session of the New Jersey Senate on December 19, 2022.
Senator Steinhardt was selected to fill the remainder of former Senator Mike Doherty’s term. Doherty resigned from the Senate after being elected in November to serve as the Warren County Surrogate.
“I plan to continue Senator Doherty’s legacy of conservative leadership,” Steinhardt added. “That means fighting for fiscal responsibility, parental rights, and the rights of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and live in safe communities. I promise to be a strong conservative voice in Trenton for the 23rd District and all of New Jersey.”
The 23rd District includes parts of Warren, Hunterdon, and Somerset Counties.
