Stephanie Schmid Premieres New Campaign Ad

Stephanie Schmid, Democrat for Congress in NJ-04, unveiled her latest campaign ad on May 26th at a Zoom video premiere event with supporters. This video is the first of three that her campaign will be rolling out ahead of the July 7th primary election.

This first ad tells Stephanie’s story, beginning with her childhood in New Jersey and her high school internship in her opponent, Rep. Chris Smith’s office in 1997, which led to her career advancing human rights around the globe. Viewers will get a look into Stephanie’s service overseas as a United States Foreign Service Officer and her experience authoring legislation to advance human rights while leading the U.S. Foreign Policy Program at the Center for Reproductive Rights. Stephanie makes her case for generational change: after nearly 40 years of absentee, unresponsive leadership from Rep. Smith, NJ-04 deserves a representative that lives in our district, is accountable to her constituents by holding regular town halls, and is laser-focused on protecting our public health and safety, supporting our police, fire fighters, teachers, and small businesses, and fighting for our families every day.

“I hope that when people hear my story of public service and commitment to always putting our country before party and people before partisanship, they feel inspired to vote for change here in New Jersey’s 4th District,” Stephanie said. “I have dedicated my life to lifting up and serving those struggling in our community as well as the most vulnerable communities around the world. It would be an honor and privilege to serve our community as the first Congresswoman from NJ-04 and bring my dedication, passion, and experience to Washington on behalf of NJ-04.”

The Stephanie for New Jersey campaign videos are produced and directed by Jess Jacobs, activist and co-founder of Invisible Pictures.

Stephanie is a New Jersey native, a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer and Diplomat who served our country overseas on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, and a human rights litigation attorney and advocate. She’s running to bring new leadership to Congress at a time when we need our leaders to solve pressing challenges and create opportunities for the people of New Jersey.
