Steve Rogers, President of America Winning Coalition endorsed Oakland Attorney John McCann for the Republican nomination to oppose Congressman Josh Gottheimer in the 2020 election.  McCann was the 2018 Republican nominee against Gottheimer after winning a hotly contested primary and is competing in the 2020 Bergen County Republican Organization convention for the organization’s line on March 23, 2020.

               “I am very excited John has decided to run again.  He proved himself a worthy opponent against Gottheimer in 2018 in a very difficult year for Republicans.  He raised almost one million dollars, built an extensive grassroots network and enjoys strong support among Republican activists,” said Rogers.

               “John’s longstanding support of conservative beliefs and his decades of support to the Republican Party make him the best choice to serve in Congress.  He will be an effective representative for the 5th district and an excellent partner for President Trump,” continued Rogers.

               “Most important to me and citizens who are committed to Making America Great Again is John’s unwavering support of President Trump.  John has proudly stood beside President Trump and never wavered in his support of the Trump agenda,” Rogers said.

            “Now, more than ever, President Trump needs people like John McCann in office.  I look forward to helping send President Trump a real partner to Congress.  I hope every Trump supporter will join John in his campaign,” Rogers concluded.

Steve Rogers is the President of America Winning Coalition.  He also serves as a Commissioner in Nutley, NJ.  Rogers served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1974, joined the East Orange Police Department in 1974 and transferred to the Nutley Police Department in 1976.  Rogers is a retired US Naval Officer, who was assigned to the Office of Naval Intelligence and The FBI National Joint Terrorism Task Force.  He retired from the Nutley Police Department in 2011 as a detective.

John McCann is a practicing attorney in Oakland, New Jersey.  He served as General Council to the New Jersey Sheriffs Association, as a Member of the Council in Cresskill, NJ and was the 2018 Republican nominee for the 5th Congressional District of New Jersey.  John and his wife Sharon have two daughters.  He remains active in Republican political circles as President of the Oakland Republican Club and a Member of the Bergen County Republican Organization Committee.
