Steven Fulop Receives Twelve More Municipal Elected Official Endorsements Statewide

Mayor of Bordentown Township, Mayor of Lumberton, Mayor of Freehold Borough Join Group of Councilman In New Municipalities of Elected Official Support

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Democrat Steven Fulop’s campaign for Governor is now endorsed by Bordentown Township Mayor Eric Holliday, Lumberton Mayor Gina LaPlaca, and Freehold Borough Mayor Kevin Kane alongside many elected officials throughout the state this week. This marks a key milestone for the campaign, as these municipalities have not previously expressed public support towards the campaign.

In addition to the support of these three mayors, the following have also joined in support of the Fulop for Governor campaign:

  • West Orange Councilman Bill Rutherford
  • Neptune Councilman Kevin McMillan,
  • Westfield Councilwoman Linda Habgood,
  • Councilwoman Quantavia Hilbert City of Orange Twp
  • Former Cranford Mayor Dan Aschenbach,
  • Asbury Park Board of Education member Stephanie Ackerman
  • Edison Councilman Ajay Patil
  • Closter Councilwoman Alissa Latner
  • Former Highland Park Councilman Josh Fine

“Steve Fulop’s campaign is one of the first to speak directly to the needs of our residents across New Jersey,” said Mayor Eric Holliday. “We need leaders who are focused on results and committed to making a difference in the lives of residents, not the pockets of politicians. I’m proud to stand alongside Steven Fulop for Governor of New Jersey.”

“From the very beginning of this campaign, we’ve made it a priority to build strong support among mayors because they are the leaders who truly understand the needs and concerns of their communities,” said Mayor Steven Fulop. “The support of these mayors continues to show that the voters need change across New Jersey and this campaign is crossing new horizons to do just that. Together, we are continuing to grow this movement, one step at a time, and we’re ready to usher in a new era of responsiveness and progress for New Jersey.”

Since launching his campaign, Fulop has focused his campaign on local elected official endorsements of mayors and councilpeople.

“Steve’s leadership and vision are exactly what we need to move our state forward. With detailed policy proposals already laid out, especially his focus on supporting local communities, he is the ideal candidate for Governor of NJ,” said Mayor Gina LaPlaca.

More than 50 mayors, former mayors and council have endorsed Steven Fulop for Governor of New Jersey. The Fulop for Governor campaign has released seven detailed policy proposals as part of its #FixNJ agenda, with additional plans for Taxes and Job Creation to be announced soon.

“Our campaign is different, not only because of policy but it is different because our endorsements are not with us because they are pushed or part of the political machine. They are taking a proactive stand to be part of a campaign that is different despite the pressure from the political machine. That says a lot in itself about them and about our campaign” concluded Mayor Fulop.
