Sturdivant Conveys Clear Vision for Red Bank at 26th Annual Candidate Forum

Vote for the Right Woman for Red Bank on November 2nd

Red Bank — For the first time in Red Bank history, three women candidates are competing for two council seats in the Borough.

Jacqueline Sturdivant took to the virtual stage in Red Bank tonight at the Public Library’s Candidate Forum to lay out her vision for Red Bank’s future.

In clear, calm, concise language Sturdivant outlined her vision for Red Bank without criticizing, attacking, or belittling her fellow candidates.

Following her idols, Shirley Chisholm and Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Jacqueline Sturdivant, an MBA graduate of The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania articulated clear, distinct, and progressive ideas for a new way forward for the entire community of Red Rank.

Ms. Sturdivant, a formula 1 racing enthusiast, brings to this race a host of private sector business skills, successes and efficiencies. She will bring these skills to local government while promoting teamwork and innovation to improve services for all Red Bank businesses and residents.

In a reproach to a candidate’s answer about the downtown business district, Sturdivant offered a holistic approach for the entirety of the borough’s business community, echoing the old Red Bank adage “not just about the downtown but about the whole town.”

Responding to a question about how to commit to environmental sustainability going forward, Jacqueline talked about the importance of improving our aging infrastructure and how Red Bank should look to take advantage of the incorporation of electric vehicles, solar panels and even potentially windmills in the future.

Jacqueline also discussed her opinion on redevelopment and overdevelopment in Red Bank.

Ms. Sturdivant stated that a good master plan, strategic plan and vision plan, that incorporated key performance indicators to monitor progress toward achieving goals, were crucial to the future growth of the Borough and would be her top priorities when elected.  She outlined how an infrastructure study with benchmarking and accountability would ensure Red Bank was growing in a healthy way.

Jacqueline ended her comments with a request for residents to vote for her on Nov 2nd.

Ms. Sturdivant is an MBA graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, and holds a Masters of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and History from Boston College.  She serves as President of the Board of Directors at the Courtyard of Red Bank.
