Suasion Communications Group President Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt Receives Ragan’s Top Women in Communications Award

Somers Point & Haddonfield, NJ – February 7, 2020 – Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt, president of the award-winning, New Jersey-based agency Suasion Communications Group, has been selected as a 2020 Ragan’s Top Women in Communications Awards Honoree in the Mentor category.

Ragan’s Top Women in Communication Industry Awards honor those making a significant impact in their day-to-day jobs and careers, advancing the profession while accelerating growth for their organizations and others.

“I am honored to be recognized by Ragan – a leader in the corporate communications, public relations social media and management industry – as a Top Mentor. Mentorship and volunteerism are passions that I hold near and dear to my heart,” Adelizzi-Schmidt explained.

Adelizzi-Schmidt acquired Smith O’Keefe & Associates and rebranded it under the name Suasion Communications Group in 2007. Since then, she has positioned Suasion as a successful omni-channel boutique agency, with offices located in Somers Point and Haddonfield, New Jersey. Under Adelizzi-Schmidt’s direction, Suasion’s team of creative professionals execute successful branding, public relations, digital, and marketing campaigns for their clients.

Adelizzi-Schmidt volunteers her time mentoring students and is involved in many community, civic and business endeavors. She is a member and mentor in Stockton University Women’s Leadership Council, where she mentors young professionals and assists them with achieving their career aspirations.

The mom of two young adults who also share her love for volunteering, she and they have devoted many holidays to helping the less fortunate by preparing meals for area senior citizens. Adelizzi-Schmidt also has participated in ‘Over the Edge’ for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, by rappelling down 17 stories of the Sheraton Hotel in Atlantic City to benefit young children in need of mentors.

In addition to her career as an entrepreneur, Adelizzi-Schmidt also serves as a Stockton University School of Business Adjunct Professor. Additionally, Adelizzi-Schmidt shares her business knowledge at well-received seminars and workshops that take place regularly at schools, universities, and business organizations.

Adelizzi-Schmidt is a Doctoral Candidate (Organizational Leadership) at Stockton University, where she also completed her Master of Business Administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA.

Adelizzi-Schmidt serves on the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association and the Downtown New Jersey Boards of Directors. Susan made history as the first female from either party to win a nomination and run for State Senate in the history of New Jersey’s First Legislative District. Her hard-fought campaign platform focused attention on job creation, economic development, women’s advocacy and addressing the substance abuse epidemic.

In 2019, Suasion was honored with a PR Daily Bulldog Award for Best Travel and Tourism Campaign, a New Jersey Tourism Industry Association Tourism Excellence Award and Downtown New Jersey’s ‘Tools of the Trade’ Communications Excellence Award. Under Adelizzi-Schmidt’s leadership, Suasion has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named to the Philadelphia Business Journal Top Full-Service Marketing Agency List; seven NJ Tourism Excellence Awards; five HSMAI Adrian Awards and three PR Daily Awards.

In 2018, Adelizzi-Schmidt was awarded a FOLIO: Top Women in Media Award, recognizing the women trailblazers, leaders, advocates and mentors of the industry. She is also a recipient of the 2015 Philadelphia Business Journal’s South Jersey Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In 2014, she was selected for the Stockton University’s School of Graduate Studies Professional Achievement Award.
