SULEIMAN STATEMENT ON REPUBLICANS’ REJECTION OF AN EARLY VOTING SITE IN PLEASANTVILLE

(Absecon) Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman released the following statement:

“Once again, Atlantic County Republicans are making it harder for people of color to vote. The County Clerk’s decision is shortsighted and does very little to ensure fair and equal access for voters. The Republicans are choosing to waste taxpayer dollars on a seldom-used early voting location in Buena Vista even though more people early voted in Pleasantville, which didn’t have a site. Clearly there is more potential for increased voter participation in the City of Pleasantville.

“The Republicans care more about winning than they do about making voting more accessible to all, wasting taxpayer dollars in the process.”
