Sumter on Assembly Passage of State Budget

(TRENTON) – Assembly Majority Conference Leader Shavonda Sumter released the following statement regarding the passage of the FY’18 budget:

“It is our fiduciary responsibility to deliver a fiscally sound budget that continues to focus on improving the lives of New Jersey residents.

“My colleagues and I have remained focused on supporting good policy measures which keep working families and children first. This year’s budget legislation does exactly that.

“Thankfully, this year’s shut down was not unnecessarily prolonged, state workers can return to work. DMV’s and courts can reopen. Our most vulnerable residents can continue to receive the services they depend on.”
