Sumter on FY2020 Budget Signing
(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter (D-Bergen, Passaic) issued the following statement after the signing of the state fiscal spending plan for FY2020:
“At the end day, a fiscally sound spending plan is about what we can accomplish for the over 9 million residents who call New Jersey home and how we can prepare for the future.
“It’s about the seniors and veterans that will receive tax relief under a fully funded senior freeze tax program and veterans income tax deductions. The additional funding to strengthen maternal health programs in this state as well as our public education priorities supports New Jersey families.
“The FY2020 budget we delivered and was signed today by the Governor aligns our Democratic priorities and will meet the needs of New Jersey’s citizens for the next fiscal year.”
