(TRENTON) – Assembly Majority Conference Leader Shavonda Sumter (D-Passaic/Bergen) released the following statement Thursday on the passing of Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Jerry Green:

“Today we mourn the loss of a giant in New Jersey who was a trailblazer for civil rights and economic justice – a leader of distinction whose presence will forever remain in our hearts.
