Support for Commissioner Emanuel Capers to keep him on the School Board
Dr. Lamont Repollet
Commissioner of Education,
State of New Jersey
Commissioner Repollet,
We the parents and voters of the Paterson Public Schools send this letter to you in support of Commissioner Emanuel Capers In retaining his positions on the Paterson Public School Board, as one of the most genuine voices on the board, commissioner Capers has been a staunch fighter for not only our children, however our teaching staff and administrators. His concern for parents fuels his drive for excellence for ALL children of Paterson. This district will be severely deficient with his absence. WE DO NOT stand with the senseless witch hunt orchestrated by local union President John McEntee, with the removal of a champion for our children.
We have seen first hand how Mr. McEntee has used his position as an attack weapon against parents, community and elected officials that don’t “ fall in line” with his thinking and ideology. We feel that Mr. McEntee has lost vision and suffers a huge disconnect from progressive and strategic thinking of moving our children and this district forward. The children of Paterson deserve the best of education that their peers in other districts receive, our children deserve to be equipped with the tools necessary to compete globally.
We strongly condemn this senseless attack on commissioner Capers and call for and end to the shenanigans and the immediate review and removal or censure of Mr. McEntee as union president for Paterson Public Schools. He continues to weaponize his teachers to attack commissioner Capers with levels of disrespect, even threatening cyber attack by using his image for porn sites. We the parents and community of Paterson voted to re-elect commissioner Capers and we should be the deciding factor on who removes our elected officials.
We the public who voted him in are the deciding factor as to who represents us. Unfortunately, this conglomerate out folks from out-of-town do not get to decide who we choose to represent us. This systemic racism continues to rear its ugly head in every aspect of our society and we as community will not be suffocated any longer we will continue to breath life into the hearts and minds of our community regardless of the knee these folks continue utilize as the engage in their version of the George Floyd challenge that they play as a game with the lives of the people of Paterson.
Respectfully,
The parents and voters of Paterson Public Schools
