Sweeney Delivers Keynote Address at Center for Jewish Life’s Annual Testimonial Dinner

Trenton – Senate President Steve Sweeney delivered the keynote address at the Center for Jewish Life’s Annual Testimonial Dinner last night, where they dedicated a new Torah to the center.

“It was an honor to deliver the keynote address at the Center for Jewish Life’s Annual Testimonial Dinner and a privilege to witness the dedication of a new Torah to the synagogue,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “With the terrifying rise of anti-Semitism plaguing our nation it was especially meaningful to be a part of such a jovial celebration. For the last sixteen years, this center has been incredibly meaningful for Central Jersey, I look forward to seeing the continued impact they are able to have in the coming years.”

The Center for Jewish Life serves Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, and Mercer counties.  It offers a range of programs, including a women’s circle, senior programs, a J Teen Club, and a Hebrew School, which are open to all denominations.

“It was wonderful to have the Senate President with us to share in our celebration,” said Rabbi Yossi Kanelsky, Spiritual Leader and Founder, Center for Jewish Life. “Especially given the national climate, we are extremely grateful to have him as an ally and advocate for the Jewish Community in Trenton.”
