Sweeney Joins in Ribbon-Cutting for Inspira Hospital Mullica Hill

Trenton – Senate President Steve Sweeney attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Inspira Hospital Mullica Hill, the first new hospital to be built in Gloucester County in 45 years. The facility will provide state-of-art healthcare for Mullica Hill, Harrison Township, Gloucester County and all of South Jersey.

“This new medical facility is going to have an immense impact on both the standard of care and the local economy for the surrounding community. This hospital is the culmination of over a quarter of a billion dollar project that will produce thousands of good paying jobs and create economic growth around Mullica Hill and across Gloucester County,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “I look forward to seeing how this facility will shape the region in years to come.”

Upon opening, approximately 1,400 employees will work at the new hospital. The facility was designed with significant input from more than 200 employees and physicians who are committed to creating a safe, comfortable and healing environment for patients and their loved ones.

“It has been a long time coming, but we are incredibly proud to see the hospital finally ready to serve the community. We couldn’t have done this without the help of Senate President Steve Sweeney, who was an eager and early supporter of the project,” said John DiAngelo, President and CEO of Inspira Health. “The opening of the Inspira Hospital Mullica Hill means Gloucester County will finally have a state-of-the-art, 21st Century medical center that will provide opportunities and care for residents across South Jersey.”

Inspira Health is a charitable, nonprofit health care organization serving communities across southern New Jersey. The network, which traces its roots to 1899, is comprised of three hospitals, a comprehensive cancer center, several multi-specialty health centers and a total of more than 150 access points.
