Sweeney Praises Deborah’s Heart and Lung Center’s Commitment to South Jersey at Ribbon Cutting

BROWNS MILLS – Speaking at the ribbon cutting for the new Medical Office Building on the campus of the Deborah Heart and Lung Center today, Senate President Steve Sweeney praised the healthcare center’s longtime commitment to the people of South Jersey.

“Deborah’s mission is one of compassion,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester). “Its roots go back nearly a century, first caring for tuberculosis patients. Over the decades, its role has expanded, offering cardiac as well as pulmonary care. Today, we see this beautiful new medical building that will house many of the 21st century medical services patients need and expect. Deborah and Landmark Healthcare Facilities continue to show it is committed to the people of New Jersey. I am proud to be here to celebrate that.”

“We are honored that Senate President Sweeney is here to help mark this auspicious occasion,” said Joseph Chirichella, President and CEO of Deborah. “Senator Sweeney has been a lifelong champion for South Jersey – for commercial development, expanded educational and healthcare facilities and, ultimately, for the people who make this wonderful part of our state home.”

The new $21.5 million, 60,000 square foot medical office building will house an urgent care center, Garden State Diagnostic Imaging, a pharmacy, Deborah Physical and Occupational Therapy, Deborah Sleep Medicine Center and Deborah pulmonary and cardiac rehab.  The facility is owned and operated by Landmark Healthcare Facilities, LLC

Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, New Jersey, is an 89-bed teaching hospital that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired heart, lung and vascular diseases in adults, as well as providing outpatient cardiology services for children.
