Tammy Murphy Announces Campaign Leadership Team

 

Campaign Team Includes Veteran Political Operatives with Proven Track Record of Helping Elect Democrats Up and Down the Ballot Across the Country

 

RED BANK, NJ – Today, Tammy Murphy announced her campaign leadership team in her bid to become the first woman to represent New Jersey in the U.S. Senate. Murphy’s team, led by Campaign Manager Max Glass, Jr., is a diverse and talented group of veteran political operatives with a wealth of experience and knowledge of the New Jersey and national political landscape. The team includes key strategists with a proven track record in helping elect Democrats up and down the ballot and across the country.

In addition to Glass, Murphy’s leadership team includes Dan Bryan as Chief Strategist, Alexandra Altman as Communications Director, Molly Murphy as Finance Director, Will Schwartz as Research Director, and Storm Wyche as Political Director.

Max Glass, Jr., Campaign Manager

Max Glass, Jr., is a veteran campaign manager with a strong track record of building innovative and effective organizations in challenging environments. With a passion for electing Democratic leaders who support pro-choice, pro-environment, and pro-labor policies, Glass has managed Democratic campaigns across the country, including in New Jersey. From reelecting pro-choice champion Sen. Richard Blumenthal in Connecticut to overseeing a top-tier Senate campaign in Kansas with a $30 million budget, he excels in building effective and diverse teams, coordinating message development and strategic operations. Other career highlights include managing Abdul El-Sayed’s gubernatorial campaign in Michigan, Rep. Jeff Jackson’s Senate campaign in North Carolina, and Representatives Tulsi Gabbard’s and Lisa Blunt Rochester’s initial elections in Hawaii and Delaware respectively.

Glass earned his Master of Arts degree in Applied Politics at American University.

 

 

Storm Wyche, Political Director

Storm Wyche is a veteran political operative with a wealth of experience working with Democrats up and down the ballot. Most recently, Wyche served as a Regional Director for EMILYs List where she was responsible for identifying, recruiting, supporting, and advising women candidates for state and local office with a strategic focus on down ballot statewide offices, legislative swing seats, and Democratic open seat opportunities. Wyche also has an extensive knowledge of the New Jersey political landscape and was Campaign Manager for several races including Tedesco for County Executive, Sullivan, Amoroso, Ortiz for Commissioner; Lagana for Senate/Swain and Tully for Assembly, and Johnson, Haider, Park for NJ. Prior to these races, Wyche served as Deputy Director of the New Jersey Coordinated Campaign for Cory Booker for Senate and as Deputy National Scheduling Director and New Jersey State Director for Cory 2020.

Wyche received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew University.

 

 

Molly Murphy, Finance Director

Molly Murphy has spent her career in campaign fundraising working on campaigns at the local, congressional, statewide, and national level. After beginning her career in Massachusetts politics working for Jesse Mermell’s congressional race for MA-04, she joined President Biden’s 2020 Tri-State Finance team where she helped raise over $20 million per month and executed the Artists for Biden initiative that raised over $5 million. In 2021 she served as Deputy Finance Director for New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s 2021 re-election campaign and was an integral part of the team that raised over $20 million. She spent the 2022 cycle as Senator Patty Murray’s National Finance Director, where the fundraising team set a new record for money raised for a race in Washington state. She returned to New Jersey in 2023 as the Finance Director for the LD16 slate where she raised over $1.1 million for one of the most competitive legislative races in the state.

Murphy graduated with honors from Williams College in 2019 with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and Art History.

 

Alexandra Altman, Communications Director

Alexandra Altman is a seasoned communications professional with over a decade of experience in crafting strategic messaging to elevate the profile and reputation of leaders, organizations, and ideas. Altman most recently served as Deputy Communications Director for New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy where she was part of the team responsible for the strategic messaging and rapid response communications for the Governor and his Administration. Altman also spearheaded the strategic communications for Governor Murphy in his role as Chair of the National Governors Association. She also served as Deputy Press Secretary for the Governor, leading the messaging strategy for key areas of the Governor’s agenda including climate action and clean energy, public health and COVID-19, and First Lady Tammy Murphy’s Nurture NJ initiative. Prior to joining the Murphy Administration in 2018, Altman held roles as Assistant Director for Communications and Media Relations at the Institute for Advanced Study, one of the world’s leading centers for theoretical research and intellectual inquiry, and was Head of Communications and Customer Relationship Management at HelloFresh USA.

Altman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Oklahoma State University.

 

 

Will Schwartz, Research Director

Will Schwartz is a skilled political research operative with deep experience working with several key Democratic races across the country. Schwartz has consulted for many campaigns, and has produced critical research narratives and strategic insights for opposition research, self research, paid communications, mail pieces, and television advertisements. As a Regional Research Director and Research Manager for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Schwartz led opposition research and rapid response efforts for twelve targeted East Coast races. Prior to working at the Democratic Congressional Campaign, Schwartz was a Senior Research Associate for Barbara Bollier for Kansas. Earlier in his career, Schwartz worked at Jones Mandel and Hillary for America.

Schwartz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Middlebury College.

 

 

Dan Bryan, Chief Strategist

Daniel Bryan is a Democratic Strategist with over a decade of experience in local, county, state, and federal elections in New Jersey and beyond. He advises political and private sector entities on communications, politics, and general strategy.

Bryan helped elect Governor Murphy in 2017, and spent the following four years serving the Governor as Press Secretary and then Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications. He served as Communications Director through the Governor’s historic reelection in 2021. Before working on the Governor’s campaign in 2017, Bryan served as Chief of Staff to Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer from 2009-2015 followed by a stint at a boutique real estate-focused public relations firm. Bryan grew up in Ringwood, New Jersey, and is an alumni of the University of Scranton and Don Bosco Prep.
