Tea Party Express Endorses Rep. Jeff Van Drew for Congress in New Jersey
Sacramento, CA: Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of Rep. Jeff Van Drew for re-election in New Jersey’s Second Congressional District.
Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “One of the major issues that helped fuel the Tea Party movement was a frustration with politicians who put party above principle. The American people want their leaders to fight for the ideas they believe in regardless of the politics. Jeff Van Drew is one leader who has done just that in Congress; he rejected the Democrat Party for drifting too far to the left and embraced President Trump and the Republicans.
“Jeff has a long and distinguished record of public service in which he developed a reputation for working across party lines to find commonsense solutions. Whether as Mayor of Dennis Township or in the New Jersey State Senate, he has fought to hold government accountable, block tax increases, and bring jobs back to South Jersey. And when Democrats in Congress staged their months-long partisan impeachment stunt, Jeff put principle above politics and voted ‘no.’ If we are to get our economy roaring again and reform the broken system in Washington, it will be because of commonsense leaders like Jeff coming together to find solutions that get government out of the way of job creators and eliminate government waste.
“Jeff is correct in that the Democrats have moved so far to the left that their party is almost unrecognizable today. Instead of looking out for the best interests of the American people, Democrats have embraced the ideology of the far left, which calls for oppressive socialist programs and defends violent criminals in the streets burning our cities. Americans are ready to get back to work and see real progress in fixing our broken federal government. Above all, they want principled leaders like Jeff Van Drew who reject the extremism and partisan bickering and are committed to fighting for policies that restore American prosperity,” Russo concluded.
