ABSENTEE ASSEMBLYMAN: JASON O’DONNELL MISSED DOZENS OF MAJOR VOTES IN LAST SESSION HE SERVED
BAYONNE, NJ — Jason O’Donnell wants Bayonne voters to believe he will have their back as Mayor, but he already failed them as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly. During O’Donnell’s last year in the Assembly in 2014-15, he actually failed to show up and register a vote on dozens of major issues taken up by the legislative body, missing 34 significant votes in all — a staggering amount that should disqualify him from seeking another public office. Below is a breakdown of the votes on 3rd Final Passage, Motion to Concur and Motion to Table of bills during the 2014-15 session that O’Donnell missed.
“Jason O’Donnell has already had a chance to serve Bayonne, but even though he was still being paid almost $50,000 by the taxpayers he couldn’t be bothered to show up and do the people’s work,” said Davis Team spokesman Philip Swibinski. “This atrocious attendance record isn’t the only way Assemblyman O’Donnell failed to represent Bayonne — he never delivered a cent of new school funding, and as soon as his term was up he got himself a job with a big lobbying firm and went to work for Chris Christie. That’s not commitment, it’s total failure.”
O’Donnell missed votes on major issues including economic development, prevailing wage requirements, pension funding and much more. O’Donnell also failed to deliver any new school funding during his time in Trenton, even though Bayonne’s schools have been dangerously underfunded by the state for years.
His dozens of missed votes in the 2014-15 legislative session are below:
