Teaneck Councilmembers Katz, Pagan and Orgen to Host Annual Free Thanksgiving Luncheon on Thursday

Teaneck, N.J. – Teaneck Deputy Mayor Elie Y. Katz and Councilmembers Michael Santiago Pagan and Karen Lew Orgen will be hosting their annual free Thanksgiving luncheon on Thursday, November 24th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rain which is located at 399 Water Street.

The free luncheon is open to the public and will also be co-hosted by Teaneck Manager Dean Kazinci as well as local Helping Hands food pantry leaders Karen McEvoy and Rosalind McLean.

“We have a lot to be thankful for in Teaneck which is why every Thanksgiving we gather together to offer the community a free Thanksgiving lunch to help feed those who might be struggling with food insecurity and to give those who do not want to be alone on this beautiful holiday someplace to go to enjoy themselves,” said Deputy Mayor Elie Y. Katz. “We invite all to please feel free to join us for a free Thanksgiving lunch and some family friendly entertainment with music as we gather in the warmth of the mutual love and respect that we have for one another on Thanksgiving.”

“We are thankful for the incredible blessings that we have but it is also important to always pay it forward and help those who are in need and who are less fortunate,” said Councilman Michael Santiago Pagan. “Thank you to everyone who donated food, time and energy to help make this free annual Thanksgiving luncheon possible and thank you to all of the Teaneck residents who are here helping each other on Thanksgiving.

“Many thanks to Deputy Mayor Katz for starting this Teaneck tradition and for continuing to keep it strong for so many years,” said Councilwoman Karen Lew Orgen. “What a great opportunity for Teaneck’s residents to come together and give thanks as a community.”
