Teaneck Mayor Michael Pagan Endorses Josh Gottheimer for Re-Election to Congress

Teaneck, N.J. – Mayor Michael Pagan today issued the following statement endorsing Josh Gottheimer for re-election to Congress:

“I am proud to endorse Josh Gottheimer for re-election to Congress. As a resident of Teaneck since I was 10 years old, I have seen the impact representation in Washington can have on our community. When Teaneck was thrust into the 5th Congressional district, the incumbent refused to help Teaneck and other communities with grant applications or appropriations, meaning we never got our fair share. When Josh was elected that all changed, and his ability to navigate Congress has been an asset to the residents of Teaneck. It is that tenacity that Josh has which has brought home millions of dollars to support our hometown. Teaneck and New Jersey cannot afford to lose Josh Gottheimer in Washington — we need to send the Congressman back to D.C. to fight for Teaneck and New Jersey’s fair share.”

Michael Pagan was born in New York City on July 29, 1976 and was raised in Washington Heights until he was 10 years old. In 1986, his family moved to Teaneck, New Jersey. Pagan graduated from Teaneck High School in 1994 and attended Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey before transferring to Temple University in Philadelphia and graduating with a B.A. in Journalism in 1998. Pagan has worked as a reporter for the North Jersey Herald News, as a grants writer for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and as a press secretary for three Speakers of the New Jersey General Assembly, a U.S. Congressman and two U.S. Senators. Pagan was the first Latino elected to the Teaneck Council in 2020 and was the first Latino elected Mayor in 2023. He also currently serves as a Senior Community Relations Specialist for the Bergen County Department of Planning and Engineering.
