Teaneck Mayor Mike Pagan Issues Statement on Safety This Weekend

Teaneck, N.J. – Teaneck Mayor Mike Pagan issued the following statement on safety for this upcoming weekend:

“The Township has been made aware of a planned ‘Day of Hate’ coinciding with this evening’s Shabbat. While federal, state and county officials assure us that there is no credible threat to the greater Teaneck Jewish community, we remain vigilant and will work closely with our law enforcement community to protect our hometown.

We will continue to take every step necessary to help ensure that our Jewish community and all faiths may continue to live, work, worship and study without fear because hate has no home here. The Teaneck Police Department will provide extra staffing to keep everyone safe and secure.

Please remember to always remain alert and vigilant and to take all security precautions to help protect our hometown. If you see something, please say something by reporting it to 911 for emergencies and 201-837-2600 for non-emergencies.

Shabbat Shalom.”
