Tenafly Mayor Zinna Declares State of Emergency on March 15th

3/15/2020 – IMPORTANT MARCH 15TH CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

The dynamics of the coronavirus spread is a very fluid and evolving situation.  Because of this we are issuing additional instructions to prevent the spread of the virus.  We now have two confirmed positive coronavirus cases in Tenafly.  We expect additional cases will follow.

Therefore, the following is EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY and until further notice:

1. All public parks and sports fields in Tenafly, whether on Borough property or Board of Education property are closed.

2. All private gyms, sports clubs and facilities, dance establishments, personal training facilities and yoga facilities are closed.

3. Restaurants are strongly recommended to suspend in-restaurant dining services and move to take-out and delivery service only.

4. The police department is witnessing groups of youth congregating closely together.  This is not in compliance with social distancing protocols.  Please advise your children to practice safe social distancing behavior.  Stay 6 feet apart from each other.

If you suspect that your are exhibiting symptom’s relating to the coronavirus, please contact your medical professional immediately.  

As the CDC recommends, wash your hands every hour for at least 20 seconds.

As previously advised, Borough Hall is closed to the public until further notice.  All Borough business and services continue to function.  If you have business within the borough, please call Borough Hall at 201-568-6100 for guidance during normal business hours.
