During Mr. Bankston’s March 9, 2018 appearance on Chasing News, host, Bill Spadea extended an invitation to Councilman James for a candidates debate. “I would love to have you and your opponent Terrance Bankston on to have an honest conversation. John let’s do it; the invitation is extended to you,” requested Spadea. “John James’ deafening silence in the South Ward, has created a ground swell of concern,” expressed Bankston. “It’s become painfully clear that the residents, business owners and leaders from the South Ward community are dissatisfied with and disillusioned by John’s absence in the ward. Newark needs #LEADERSHIPvsLEGACY, which is why many Southwarder’s have expressed their disappointment in John’s blatant disregard and disrespect toward the ward and are now DEMANDING that he stop hiding, which is why the popular hashtag, #JoinTheDebateJohn, is very apropos.”
