EVESHAM – The Evesham Republican Party unanimously elected Michael Thompson to serve as its new chairman.
Thompson, a former candidate for town council, takes on a new term of party leadership as the local republicans seek to win back the town of over 47,000 residents.
“I am truly humbled and honored to take on this new role of leadership. Thank you to all the committee members who put your faith in me,” Thompson said, “As a united party, I look forward to putting forth our vision to make Evesham an even better community.”
The party also elected Aiden DeMarsey to serve as Vice-Chairman. DeMarsey currently serves as an elected member of the Evesham Township Board of Education and is a Burlington County Young Republican.
“We have a lot of work to do here in town in the next few years. I am greatly looking forward to supporting candidates who are dedicated to addressing local issues, supporting Main Street businesses, and making Evesham affordable for young residents and future families,” DeMarsey stated, “Residents are ready for a change in leadership, it’s time to put the work in to make it happen.”
In Evesham Township, a traditionally swing town, Republicans are currently supporting Bob DiEnna & Tom DeMarsey for two seats on the town council. In addition, the local GOP will be mounting a campaign in 2026 for a majority on town council with three seats up for grabs.
