Thomas Duch Statement on Kristin Corrado Swearing-In

RIDGEWOOD N.J. –  Krisin Corrado was sworn-in as Senator for District 40 this afternoon, abandoning her position as Passaic County Clerk. She takes over for former Senator Kevin O’Toole who also vacated his seat over the summer to take a Christie appointment.

“Residents of the 40th Legislative District, particularly those in Passaic County, have seen a recent lack of consistent leadership,” said Thomas Duch. “Kevin O’Toole left the seat for a position at the Port Authority. Now, Kristin Corrado has left residents of Passaic County during the most critical month in the County Clerk’s office.”

Thomas Duch started his career in public service in 1980 when he was elected Mayor of Garfield. He went on to serve two terms in the State Assembly. In 2003, he returned to Garfield and has served as City Manager since then.

“I am committed to improving the lives of residents throughout the 40th District,” stated Thomas Duch. “Kristin Corrado is a GOP soldier who will vote in lockstep with Republicans, attempting to further Governor Christie’s failed agenda. I’m working to change New Jersey’s path. Between equal pay, health care funding, infrastructure repair, and equal rights, we have a lot of work to do. I’m ready to serve.”
