T&M ASSOCIATES PROJECTS RECOGNIZED STATEWIDE FOR ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE AND INNOVATIVE DESIGN

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Last week, national engineering and environmental services firm T&M Associates received multiple honors from statewide engineering organizations for innovative projects in sustainability, resiliency, and innovation. The American Society of Highway Engineers of Southern and North/Central New Jersey named T&M’s redesign of Washington Street in Hoboken as the 2020 Project of the Year in the over $5 million category, and the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey selected the firm’s Iowa Court & South Green Street Living Shoreline Project for the Grand Honor, Non-Transportation category in its 2020 Engineering Excellence Awards.

In 2015 the City of Hoboken moved forward with a modernization of the historic Washington Street corridor in conjunction with the NJ Department of Transportation and T&M, who performed the redesign, construction administration, and inspection and observation services. The construction was completed in July 2019.

In 2012, Tuckerton Borough and Little Egg Harbor Township had sustained heavy damages from Sandy, particularly the shoreline areas around Iowa Court and South Green Street that were left all but completely eroded and vulnerable to additional future harm. T&M employed an innovative living shoreline model that included new, affordable elements to combat erosion, restore and stabilize beaches, establish and strengthen natural habitats, and protect existing infrastructure and homes. The project was completed in September 2019.
