“Today I call on Congressman Leonard Lance to use his influence, after years in Washington, to stop this bill that would devastate so many New Jersey taxpayers. Paul Ryan’s plan eliminates the deduction for state and local income taxes (SALT) and reduces deductions for mortgage and medical expenses in order to give huge tax breaks to corporations that bankroll the Republican Party.
The Ryan Republican plan takes direct aim at middle class New Jersey taxpayers. It’s not enough for Congressman Lance to cast a symbolic, ineffectual “no” vote on this bill — the test for him is whether he can affect the outcome. Either he is standing up to his leadership to defeat this bill or he is just part of the problem- with New Jersey’s middle class paying the price.”
