Commissioners to hold public meeting about construction

of Cooper River Bike/Pedestrian Bridge

(Cherry Hill, NJ) – The Camden County Parks Department, in partnership with its technical and engineering consultant NV5, will host a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 17, to present the preliminary design for the Cooper River Bike/Pedestrian Bridge Project.

This new 12-foot wide, dual span steel bridge will cross over the Cooper River near Admiral Wilson Boulevard between Flanders Avenue and the Speedway gas station in Camden. The bridge will provide a safe alternative for pedestrians and bicyclists in the area to cross the Cooper River and will also serve as one portion of the Camden County LINK Trail. When completed, the Camden County LINK Trail will travel through 17 Camden County communities, from the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden to the Pinelands National Reserve in Winslow Township.

“This project will vastly improve travel conditions and safety for several different methods of transportation in the area including bicycles and pedestrian use,” said Commissioner Jeff Nash, liaison to the Parks Department. “This meeting will be a great way to give our residents some insight into this major project and answer any questions they might have.”
