Transportation Division of SMART Recommends Malinowski

On Thursday, the Transportation Division of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers announced their decision to recommend Tom Malinowski in the NJ 7th District.

“The New Jersey State Legislative Board of the SMART Transportation Division voted unanimously to recommend to our members Tom’s election to Congress, based on his support for positions important to SMART TD,” said SMART TD State Director Ronald Sabol. “We wish Tom a successful election and look forward to working with him in the future.”

“I am grateful for the Transportation Division of SMART’s support and will continue to advocate for strong protections for our country’s workers,” said Tom Malinowski. “Labor is the backbone of our country’s middle class, and we need Washington to be on labor’s side.”

Tom is the former Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. He oversaw the U.S. State Department’s Office of International Labor Affairs during the Obama Administration, serving as the chief advocate for worker protections in our international trade agreements and providing support to trade union activists around the world.
