I’m sure most of my fellow Trentonians are just as surprised as I am by Councilman Blakeley’s resignation. Councilman Blakeley has been a champion for some of Trenton’s most progressive issues—most recently, our ordinance laying out the plan for cannabis dispensaries in our Capital City where his leadership was instrumental. Councilman Blakeley was the deciding factor in the Council amending the resolution to allow ten cannabis dispensaries compared to the original five. His dedication to duty, perseverance, and passion for our community will have a lasting impact on the Trenton City Council and this Capital City for years to come. If you know Councilman Blakeley as I do, then you know that he will achieve everything that he works towards, and I wish him good luck in his next endeavor.

I hope that whoever fills the void on the current Council left by Councilman Blakeley has the dedication to duty, perseverance, and passion that our Capital City deserves
