ELIZABETH, NJ — The Port Driver Association delivered a powerful endorsement of conservative Republican U.S. Senate frontrunner Rik Mehta in his bid to remove Cory Booker from office. The Port Driver Association is based in New Jersey and works with truck drivers throughout the nation.

“For 20 years we have been waiting for someone like Rik Mehta to hear our voice and help us be heard,” said Edisson Villacis, President of the Port Driver Association. “We are looking forward to working with future Senator Rik Mehta to raise awareness about our situation and advocate for our group and independent drivers throughout the nation. He is the only person who has taken the time to talk to us during this time of need.”

There are over 14,000 independent drivers registered to enter the port of New Jersey alone and 125,000 independent drivers around the nation comprising of more than two-thirds of all truck drivers in America.

Villacis continued, “He truly cares about the well-being of the people in need. My group holds down the line to make sure people have the supplies they need to stay alive. We appreciate that Rik took the time to meet with us and understand the complexity of these issues. That’s why, once he is elected as our next U.S. Senator, he has committed his will to making sure not one independent driver is left behind. Rik has the qualities to make our American Dream become a reality.”

Mehta’s endorsement comes on the back of his winning the majority of all Republican county lines in New Jersey giving him a significant advantage heading into the June 2 primary. Mehta’s support throughout New Jersey is far reaching and includes Monmouth, Middlesex, Burlington, Somerset, Passaic, Camden, Union, Gloucester, Essex, Mercer, Hudson, Hunterdon, Warren, Salem and his home county of Morris.
