UCDC Chairman Nick Scutari Announces Assemblywoman Linda Carter to Lead Harris-Walz Efforts throughout Union County

(LINDEN) Union County Democratic Chairman and New Jersey State Senate President Nick Scutari (D-22) announced Wednesday that UCDC Vice-Chair and Assemblywoman Linda Carter (D-22) will head up Union County’s Get Out the Vote efforts for Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and Democrats up and down the ticket in 2024.

“Linda is not just an Assemblywoman and our Party’s Vice-Chair, she is a skilled community organizer and a shrewd political operative. She has been central to our County’s Get Out the Vote efforts for Democrats for years. She’s the ideal person to help us deliver an emphatic plurality for Vice President Harris and Governor Walz that will reaffirm Union County as one of the strongest Democratic counties in the state,” said Scutari.

“It’s an honor not to only cast my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris as our next President, but to help deliver her message to voters across Union County and key battleground areas. The Harris-Walz campaign has reenergized the Democratic Party with its message of unity, fighting for the working class, and ending the toxicity that has plagued our national politics for the past decade. Electing Kamala Harris is the number one priority of all Democrats nationwide. With her leadership, we can deliver victories for Democrats up and down the ticket in Union County and New Jersey.”

Scutari and Carter highlighted upcoming volunteer phone banks and canvass opportunities that will promote the Harris Walz campaign, Andy Kim for US Senate, the full NJ Congressional delegation including Sue Altman in the battleground 7th Congressional District, and County and Local campaigns to voters across Union County. In addition, volunteers from Union County will have the opportunity to call and knock in key battleground areas like Northampton County in neighboring Pennsylvania, a key bellwether County in the race for electoral votes.

“In 2020, we organized efforts for volunteers to get out the vote in Northampton County, PA and we’re excited to offer these opportunities again. With around 80 days to go until Election Day, we will focus all of our efforts to talking to voters where they are and turning out votes up and down the ticket. Electing Democrats is what we do best and we need to do our part,” said Scutari.

“We’ve already seen a massive uptick in volunteer sign-ups and a major energy shift, now we’re going to channel that into positive, effective outreach. We’ll be reaching out to big personalities and our friends in government to help make these exciting, energetic events. But truly our strength is in our volunteers and the message, we’re going to run a people-powered campaign that will deliver high voter turnout and big results come November,” added Carter.
