UNION COUNTY DEMOCRATS DECLARE SUPPORT FOR NANCY MONDELLA FOR HILLSIDE MAYOR & COOK, HOWARD, AND GUERRA FOR COUNCIL

NJ's Joint Legislative Committee on Ethical Standards dismissed a complaint filed by Linden Mayor Derek Armstead against state Senator Nick Scutari. The complaint alleged that a Scutari ally had intimidated Armstead's allies, tried to deny their civil rights and attempted to force them out of a Democratic County Committee race.

Democratic County Chair, Legislative delegation, and County leaders issue joint endorsement of registered nurse and current Councilwoman-At-Large in non-partisan race

(CLARK) Today, highlighting her long and deep commitment to public service, Democratic leaders
throughout Union County joined with the local Hillside Democratic Committee and have endorsed
Councilwoman-At-Large Nancy Mondella, a registered nurse and a former member of the Hillside
Board of Education, in her campaign for Mayor of Hillside along with George Cook, Renee Howard, and
Armando Guerra for Council.

“Nancy is a compassionate and dedicated leader who will help bring officials together to move Hillside
forward,” stated Senator Nicholas P. Scutari, the Chairman of the Union County Democratic
Committee. “As a registered nurse, Nancy consistently puts the health and safety of others ahead of
everything else. This care for others coupled with the fact she has been successfully elected town-wide
will guide her well, and we look forward to supporting her and her team.”

Senator Joseph P. Cryan, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano, and Assembly candidate Reginald Atkins
issued a joint statement of support for Mondella. “Nancy and her team’s 5-point plan for Hillside is in
line with our legislative goals – ease the tax burden on residents, raise the quality of life in Hillside,
increase governmental transparency, enhance recreation programs, and help seniors afford to retire in
their homes with dignity,” stated the 20th District legislative team. “She is an experienced public
servant, and enjoys wide support within Hillside. She’ll be a terrific mayor.”

A number of countywide elected Democrats are also endorsing Mondella for Mayor. Board of County
Commissioners Chairman Al Mirabella, Vice Chair Rebecca Williams, Commissioner Bette Jane
Kowalski, Commissioner Angela Garretson, Commissioner Sergio Granados, Commissioner Chris
Hudak, Commissioner Kimberley Palmieri-Mouded, Commissioner Lourdes Leon, Commissioner
Andrea Staten, Commissioner candidate James Baker, and Union County Sheriff Peter Corvelli will be
joining the local Hillside Democratic Committee in supporting Modella. “I grew up in Hillside and
served as a police officer in town,” stated Corvelli. “I’m honored to support Nancy, because I know she’ll
put public safety front and center and she’ll work tirelessly to prioritize the needs of residents and local
businesses.”
