Union County Democrats endorse Joe Biden Former Vice President will top 2020 Democratic Primary ballot

NJ's Joint Legislative Committee on Ethical Standards dismissed a complaint filed by Linden Mayor Derek Armstead against state Senator Nick Scutari. The complaint alleged that a Scutari ally had intimidated Armstead's allies, tried to deny their civil rights and attempted to force them out of a Democratic County Committee race.

Former Vice President will top 2020 Democratic Primary ballot
(CLARK TWP) Today, Union County Democratic Committee Chairman Nicholas P. Scutari released the following statement regarding an endorsement of a candidate for President in the 2020 Democratic Primary:
“It’s an often-used cliché – ‘this is the most important election in our lifetimes’ – but this year, few would disagree with that assessment. Our goal has always been to select the Democratic candidates best suited to represent our communities, our state, and our country. After witnessing a string of inspirational victories, and the undeniable momentum and coalescing created in their aftermath, an overwhelming majority of our Democratic municipal chairs are enthusiastically endorsing Vice President Joe Biden for President, and we will be placing his name at the top of our team in the Democratic Primary on June 2nd.
Whether it’s fighting to lower healthcare costs, pushing sensible legislation to reduce gun violence, enacting stronger regulations aimed at curbing climate change, or simply restoring our standing around the globe, Joe Biden’s values and goals perfectly match our own. Additionally, the unity fostered around his candidacy since his victory in South Carolina has transformed this race. From Senator Cory Booker through our local candidates, we’re ready to ensure he wins the June 2nd Democratic Primary and is victorious in the general election as well.”
Last month, the Union County Democratic Party endorsed U.S. Senator Cory Booker, Congressman Albio Sires (D-8), Congressman Donald Payne, Jr (D-10), Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-12), and Congressman Tom Malinowski (D-7) for re-election. They also announced that County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi (Union Twp.), Sheriff Peter Corvelli (Kenilworth), Freeholder Christopher Hudak (Linden), Freeholder Angela Garretson (Hillside) and first-time Freeholder candidate Lourdes Leon (Elizabeth) have all earned their support.
