UTCA STATEMENT ON GATEWAY FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT

WALL – Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) Executive Director Dave Rible issued the following statement today regarding the announcement that over $6.8 billion in federal funding will be made available for the Gateway Tunnel Project:

“This is a great day for the State of New Jersey. Years in the making, the Gateway Tunnel is perhaps the most important infrastructure project in the nation. It will stave off impending doom given the current condition of the existing tunnels while making it easier for millions of people to travel along the East Coast. Just as importantly, it will provide thousands of good paying jobs for hard working men and women in New Jersey.

“When we talk about the importance of infrastructure investment, we are talking about things like Gateway. On behalf of the UTCA and our members, I thank the Biden Administration, our federal and state representatives and all those who worked diligently to get to this moment. Our members stand ready, willing and able to get to work on this critical project.”
