UTCA STATEMENTS ON MURPHY ADMINISTRATION INVESTING RECORD AMOUNT OF FUNDS IN NJ INFRASTRUCTURE

Wall – Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) Executive Director David Rible, Chief Executive Officer Robert Briant and President Gerard Burdi issued the following statements today regarding the Murphy Administration and the New Jersey Department of Transportation announcing that State FY 2024 saw the largest Capital Program in state history, with $1.245 billion awarded over 115 construction contracts:

UTCA Executive Director David Rible

“Infrastructure funding is one of the smartest and most critically important investments we can make in our state. These dollars don’t just fix roads and bridges but make all of us safer while creating good paying jobs and boosting New Jersey’s economy. We appreciate the Murphy Administration’s commitment on this issue and their faith in our members to keep New Jersey moving.”

UTCA Chief Executive Officer Robert Briant

“Actions always speak louder than words and this action shows a true commitment to New Jersey, its residents and the construction industry. This record amount of funding includes some of the most important projects in our state. It will positively impact us for years to come. We thank the Murphy Administration and especially former DOT Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti and current Commissioner Fran O’Connor for making this a reality.”

UTCA President and Union Paving & Construction Co., Inc., President Gerard Burdi

“These figures are not just numbers on a page. They will have real impacts for real people. They will make badly needed repairs to infrastructure, create a safer New Jersey for all of us and improve the lives of my employees and the countless others who earn their living through the construction industry. We look forward to working with the administration again this year to invest even more dollars in our future.”
