(TRENTON) – Assembly Judiciary Chairman John McKeon (D-Essex/Morris) discusses his legislation (A-4520) to require candidates for president and vice-president of United States to disclose federal income tax returns to appear on New Jersey’s ballot.
The bill also prohibits New Jersey’s Electoral College electors from voting for candidates who fail to file income tax returns.
The bill was approved 48-26 Thursday by the Assembly and now goes to the governor.
